Starward Nova Whisky 70cl

Nova is a superb Australian single malt from the Starward series. It is aged for a long time in casks that were once filled with Australian red wine, which is sourced from wineries that make some exquisite Shiraz, Pinot Noir, and Cab. Since the casks are straight out of the wineries and are just slightly heated or burnt before the whisky is added, the flavour profile of the wine influences the spirit. Especially rich substance, it goes great both on its own and as a companion with hearty dishes. It works really well in cocktails that draw out the strong overtones of red fruit as well. Maybe even a Manhattan, maybe?
